Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We came here for gluten free eating and it was delicious! So great you can have all the menu items gluten free!"
"Have been here a few times now. Everything on the menu can be made safe. The staff seem very knowledgeable about gluten. For takeaway, if you get gluten free it will be marked so there is no confusion. Their pizzas are very good. The pasta was delicious. And the desserts were very exciting to see and both very delicious."
"Loved it! The amatriciana and the polpette al ragù were absolutely delicious — in just a few minutes everything was gone. Great central location in Rome and the staff was polite and welcoming. Just an FYI: they only serve water in small bottles. Prices are reasonable for the area. Would definitely come back!"
"I absolutely love this place! The gluten-free pizza is the best I’ve ever had it tasted just like a regular one. My husband also loved the "normal" gluten pizza."
"We had a fantastic experience here! My wife and I stopped in for dinner, I ordered the Cacio de Pepe, and my wife had the gluten free Margherita pizza. The staff were friendly, attentive, and they genuinely cared about allergies, which put us at ease. The food was outstanding. My pasta was delicious, and the gluten-free pizza was a mimic of its gluten cousin, honestly hard to tell the difference! Highly recommend if you are in the Vatican area. It’s allergy-friendly with a great atmosphere."
"It was very pleasant, cozy and welcoming. The food was great, the staff was kind. We waited a liiiittle bit for the food to arrive but it was worth it. Not too crowded…and it was clean, too!"
"Was looking for a place that served senza glutine (gluten free) and found Mama Eat. They were highly recommended and close to where we were staying. After coming back 6 times in 3 days, I can say this is hands down some of the best gluten free food in Rome if not all of Italy. The selections are all available as senza glutine and the staff speaks fluent English if Italian is not your language of choice. It is a smallish place and very popular so if you are in a group you may have to wait a bit for a table or better yet come at off hours. The restaurant is not too noisy and great for families. As a part of the AIC they are great for celiacs. I can go on and on about how good their pizza is, but the lasagna and the aubergine(eggplant) Parmesan take the biscuit. The pasta is al dente as most real Italian pasta is and the ingredients are fresh and favourful. The final star in the rating is for price. All of this and more is yours for half the price of a meal in the US or UK. If you like amazing food and great friendly service and don’t mind saving a few euros, come to Mama Eat when in Rome"
"Best carbonara I had in Rome. Delicious everything great attentive service! Will be back next time I’m in town!"
